Hip-Hop since it’s inception has been an important tool for educating the masses about the realities of life. The music has spoken about the smallest and the most complex topics that anyone could think of. This is why the culture has thrived on its most important pillar and the most heeded element – knowledge.

It is the duty of the emcees to spread word of the knowledge that they gain and apply in the real world to all their listeners. We have previously covered how the Desi Hip Hop wonder kids – Ishaan & Ayaan Dave (known as IshanTube) have been using Hip-Hop as an educational model and medium to spread their voice. They have already run a campaign promoting road safety standards with their hit single “Put Your Belt On (PYBO)”. The song already became a movement and has its own #PYBO challenge.

Code Of Conduct

The next step for the boys were to take it up a notch with “CoC (Code of Conduct)”. A fun, educational project for Carolyn Clarke Elementary School, California. The whole project was also completely produced by DHH. The core values of the “CoC” are applied throughout the school. It applies the values of a positive attitude, respect for others, responsibility and keeping a safety-first outlook.

The track takes the evergreen classic hit “O.P.P.” by Naughty By Nature and gives it the “C.O.C.” twist. Both Ishan and Ayaan go back and forth reflecting the core values of the project. The music video is also shot in and around Carolyn Clark Elementary and is a fun video to watch. It is amazing to see the future generations of Desi Hip-Hop growing up with the right values and moral education. This builds discipline and that in turn ensures success.
