Viral music platform, Triller announced today its new strategic partnership with India’s largest music streaming service and Reliance owned, JioSaavn. Being the first of many announcements to come from these two digital powerhouses, JioSaavn will soon be embedding Triller into the streamer; front and center.
The announcement comes as scores of local startups have rushed to fill the void from India’s ban on TikTok and 58 other Chinese apps over cyber security concerns created at the end of June this year.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to have partnered with not only the biggest company in India but one of the biggest and most important companies in the world,” said Bobby Sarnevesht, Executive Chairman of Triller. “Becoming the backbone music video streamer of JioSaavn as well as such a prominent position within its app, is an unparalleled honor. We will make sure to provide its 300M users with unparalleled and best of class service.”
With Triller’s recent growth and setting the record of being the only app to simultaneously be the #1 downloaded app in over 50 countries, including India. It has quickly begun its widespread expansion with several tactical partnerships. Both Triller and JioSaavn pride themselves on delivering the best content and technology to their userbase.
Rishi Malhotra, co-founder and chief executive of JioSaavn, said the partnership with Triller will enable “artists to create and express our culture in the most innovative ways. We are confident that this partnership will exponentially grow both companies”. This announcement comes on the heels of recent investments from Google and Facebook into JioSaavn’s stakeholder, Reliance. Those significant investments total to over $10 Billion, positioning JioSaavn as one of the largest streaming services in the world.
