Snoop Dogg and DMX are set to battle each other in Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s popular Verzuz series. The battle, which you’ll be able to watch on Instagram or Apple Music, will take place on Wednesday, July 22. This also might be the most hyped match of the popular one-on-one battle series yet.

The pairing feels evenly matched — each artist has a slew of hits under his belt and a distinct flavor. DMX will likely revisit classics that show the best of his ferocious delivery, like “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” and “X Gon’ Give It to Ya.” Snoop will certainly bring out the jokes and his laid-back persona, in addition to iconic tracks like “Gin & Juice” and “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang”.
Both Snoop and X have been asking for others to join them in the Verzuz ring, most notably JAY-Z. The D-O-Double-G has made numerous attempts to be known as Hov’s challenger after some attempted to pair Snoop in a mythical Verzuz battle with 50 Cent. DMX previously challenged Jay-Z to a Verzuz battle though it looks like that fell through. “I rather go against my arch-nemesis,” DMX previously said, referencing Jay.
