After recently signing with Mass Appeal India, Shah Rule has just dropped his debut six-track EP called “Hooked”. Executive produced by Shah Rule himself, he worked on the EP at home, during lockdown last year.
Talking about the project Shah Rule said, “The concept revolves around social media and the internet age as that’s an industry that literally rumbled during Covid. We have seen the power of social media in dire times and how much help it can be when we all support each other and work together. But there are always two sides to any story. Social media can be detrimental and beneficial depending on how you consume it. You can become an overnight online sensation or find a way of staying in touch with extended family overseas, but then there’s also cyber bullying and body shaming.”

The project gives a perspective about duality of social media via. banging beats, hooks and verses. It features desi hip-hop staples like DIVINE & Sikander Kahlon while other features include Frenzzy, Meba Ofilia & Diesby. The trap-infused production on the project includes Gully Gang’s staple producers like Stunnah Beatz, Xplicit and Karan Kanchan.
Alongside the project, Shah Rule has also dropped the music video for “CLAP CLAP” feat. Sikander Kahlon & Frenzzy. Watch the music video and stream the project below.
