Raftaar has finally dropped his long awaited self titled album “Mr. Nair”, which he’s been teasing since last year. The album arrives after rocking the whole last year with banger singles like “Naachne Ka Shaunq” with Brodha V, “Dilli Waali Baatcheet”, “Main Wahi Hoon” and most recent “Damn” with KRSNA.

The 16-track album which released on Zee Music Company features his Kalamkaar crew extensively like KR$NA, Yunan, Deep Kalsi, Harjas, Rashmeet Kaur, KARMA. Also featuring Gully Gang signee Shah Rule to old-time collaborators Manj Musik and Bunty Bains. Raftaar also handles most of the production of the album with assists from Manj Musik, Aakash Ravikrishan, Mahan, Tom Enzy, Deep Kalsi, and more.

“”Mr. Nair” is an acronym I coined together that not only stands for my surname but also means ”National Ambassador Of Indian Rap”. It’s an epiphany of how my life has shaped up with all the struggles and how far I”ve travelled courtesy my modest middle-class upbringing,” Raftaar told IANS about the album and it’s name.

The album starts and ends with a pure hip hop sound. While mid-project Raftaar shows his experimental and pop sound, which he executes effortlessly. Raftaar kicks off with “Me and My Pen”, trap banger featuring Shah Rule. He goes all truth in his verse, solidifying his status as a spitter as the name of the song suggests. Then Raftaar takes a more smooth chill sound in “Beshaq” and “Feeling You” with Yunan and Deep Kalsi respectively. “Bottal Wargi” featuring Jordan Sandhu & Bunty Bains and “Haan” with Harjas & Rashmeet Kaur provides that banger commercial pop sound Raftaar is very well known for. Then he delivers “Superman” featuring a classic Manj Musik hook before ending the album with a bragging anthem “Proud”.
