The Nipsey Hussle biography ‘The Marathon Don’t Stop: The Life and Times of Nipsey Hussle’ which has been in the works for a while now, has finally arrived. The book takes a deep dive into the life of the late Nipsey Hussle, who was murdered outside his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles in March 2019 and is written by VIBE founding editor Rob Kenner.
“Rob Kenner was part of the original editorial team who brought my vision for VIBE magazine to reality, and during his seventeen years at the magazine he always did outstanding work. The Marathon Don’t Stop is a beautiful tribute to a legendary artist,” the legendary Quincy Jones said about the book.

The first time veteran journalist Rob Kenner physically crossed paths with Nipsey Hussle was during his 17-year tenure with Vibe magazine. After months of sending his CDs and headshots to the publication, the future rap legend was finally invited to the New York City offices on Wall Street where Kenner was struck by Nipsey’s innate charm and charisma. Over the next 10 years, Kenner got to understand Nip, his music and what shaped his undeniable business acumen while watching his notoriety begin to soar. Along the way, Kenner realized he’d been “slept-on” for the past decade and felt writing a book about his life was the right course of action. But then March 31, 2019 happened and brought a devastating end to Nipsey Hussle’s life, shortchanging the potential for a truly long-lasting, revolutionary career. As the saying goes, “the show must go on,” so Kenner kept his pen to paper and continued hammering out what would become The Marathon Don’t Stop: The Life & Times of Nipsey Hussle.
The Marathon Don’t Stop doesn’t dedicate too much time to Nip’s death, rather Kenner chose to focus on the life he led told through those who knew him best. The book is out now and is available on Amazon.
