At midnight on July 24, rapper Logic released his final album, No Pressure. Leading up to the album’s release, Logic announced that he was retiring from rap to focus on fatherhood, tweeting, “It’s been a great decade. Now it’s time to be a great father.”
In the same week he retired from the rap game, Logic announced that he signed a seven-figure, exclusive partnership with the livestream gaming platform Twitch, and streamed No Pressure on Twitch before its release. “I’m blessed enough to have millions of fans and followers. So it is a great partnership,” Logic told Verge. “I’m going to bring new eyes to their service, they’re going to bring new money to my bank account, and — I’m just kidding.”
The 15-song album contains no features or guest artists but it’s executive produced by No I.D. Logic gave an emotional farewell to hip-hop during his No Pressure listening party Twitch stream, thanking a number of his colleagues in music for the unending support. The retired rapper was in tears as he gave shoutouts to the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Drake, “I want to thank Kendrick because he doesn’t know how much he was there for me, and Cole, and Drake, and f*cking A$AP and Ferg, and Mac DeMarco, and f*cking Toro y Moi…”.
