2017 has been one of the most successful years for Lazarus thus far. The doctor and rapper took on the mic in 2017 to dominate. His main goal was to drop tracks that can make the biggest impact throughout the year.
His main motto has been ‘Quality over Quantity’, and he has displayed that through all the songs he’s dropped this year – MTBK with Bohemia, Man on a Mission, American Dream, and multiple other appearances in the media.
In his recent tour of Pakistan, Lazarus shot multiple music videos, recorded new music, held fan ‘meet-n-greets’, made TV appearances, dropped dope freestyles on the radio, AND spent quality time with his family. How does he do all that in the space of less than 2 weeks? ‘Cuz the man’s a machine, we all know that.
However, he felt that it was important for him to make this tour happen successfully. “I just wanted to connect with the #LazArmy in Pakistan. They opened my eyes to how big this movement really is. Each fan event was a blessing to me, and each of those moments inspired me to keep pushing harder than ever before.” Lazarus added.

While a lot of Desi people living abroad do their best to adapt to their environment in the West, very few Desi artists want to connect with their roots in the East. Lazarus took this trip to Pakistan to not only connect with his roots, but to meet his fans in Pakistan who inspired him to record a new song dedicated to Pakistan.
Lazarus mentioned that, “I feel as though no one has represented Pakistan at the level that I am envisioning. My goal is to release a video that can create a real impact in the lives of the people of Pakistan – one that would be proud to call their own.”

When Lazarus dropped ‘Drug of Choice’ featuring Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, he shot the video in Pakistan showcasing the real lives of the people of Pakistan in numerous walks of life. However, in his next video – titled Pakistan – Lazarus aims to showcase the beauty of Pakistan and her people.
The new music video drops on Iqbal Day – November 9th. And, the reason Lazarus chose to drop this single on this momentous day is to not only pay homage to one of the greatest poets in history. But, he also chose to drop the single to show the importance of poetry and Hip Hop in our current generation.
“The art of poetry is inter-mingled with the art of Hip Hop. Muhammad Iqbal was a celebrated poet and philosopher, it is our job to pay respect to his art, and use his teachings to improve the world we live in today.” – Lazarus
