Gully Boy not only caught the attention of audiences worldwide, it also paved the way for multiple Hip Hop artists. DIVINE’s announcement of Gully Gang’s partnership with Nas’s Mass Appeal broke the internet earlier this month. He then took the opportunity to announce his album – Kohinoor – and dropped the intro music video for it.
Moreover, multiple other artists around the world made impact. Artists like Shah Rule, Blitzkrieg, Raja Kumari, Kaam Bhaari, Bombay Lokal, Shaikhspeare, Dee MC, MC Altaf, D’Evil, and countless others have dropped numerous projects in recent months. And, this is only just the beginning.
As Excel Entertainment, Ranveer Singh, and Alia Bhatt announced India’s official entry to the Oscars, a host of celebrities, including Nick Jonas and Canadian-Desi producer/artist Blitzkrieg, congratulated the star cast and director Zoya Akhtar for the achievement.
Ranveer wrote on Instagram, “We are so thrilled that #GullyBoy has been selected as India’s official entry to the 92nd Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. Thank you to the Film Federation of India, Aparna Sen, Supran Sen, Anindya Dasgupta, members of the jury and a big congratulations to our spectacular cast and crew.”
