We, at DesiHipHop.com, are happy to announce our new weekly edition which is entirely directed towards the underground. This piece features some of the most insane underground releases which, unfortunately, didn’t reach out to a mass audience.

Like every other week, we try to bring some of the hottest releases from the week for hip-hop listeners. These are hand-picked releases which are not arranged in any rankings and are equally important for the culture. Without any further ado, let’s see some of the dopest releases of this week from the underground scene.

1. Swabhimaani | Raathee 

Raathee is a hip-hop artist and a rapper from Bangalore Karnataka who is on the way to spread Kannada hip-hop to the world and is focused on creating good music. As a matter of fact,”Swaabhimaani” is an attempt to change the mind of anyone who thinks self-boasting is arrogance or who thinks that superiority is self-respect. Raathee stated, “People need to understand boasting comes from a very deep place and one needs to have an immense amount of confidence in himself to do it. So if you practice for 2 years trying to shoot a 3 pointer the day you do it, of course, you’re going to boast that you can shoot a 3 pointer. You won’t be like ‘everybody can do it’, of course not!”

2. Franklin D | Tienas

The song is about a dog named Franklin D and the dog is a representation of depression. In fact, depression itself is like a Big Bull Dog who enters your life and won’t go away even if you want it to. But don’t let him ruin your imagination as there are alternate meanings to everything. Tienas himself did the production for the track. Also, he did the engineering for the track as well.

3. Play | Frappe Ash ft. Eazy

India has come a long way in terms of producing good quality rappers. Although vernacular rap has gained a lot of popularity lately, India also has its share of international sounding English rappers. There is this whole tussle among the Desi community that you are not a Desi if you rap in “Angrezi” but that is an argument for another day. Akshay Rawat aka Frappe Ash is a hardworking and aspiring rapper who recently dropped his brand new track “Play”. As a matter of fact, the track is being produced by Harman. Also, Galat Scenes is credited for the visuals. American rapper Eazy laid down a beautiful verse in this joint as well.

4. Face Off (Aan De) | Harry Cheema

Chandigarh based hip-hop artist Harry Cheema dropped his brand new track “Face Off (Aan De)”. As a matter of fact, he produced and also did the engineering work for the track. Harry Cheema said, “I wanted to make something that inspires my listeners to take life head on and never give up for anything, be it circumstances or some shitty people that may affect them in any way. I have had many negative people trying to pull me back but I didn’t crumble. Life is how you make it. There are some hidden messages for some people in the song, and I hope they get it.”

5. Rone De | Shabd And Sshiv

Shubham Goswami who goes by the stage name Shabd is Delhi based hip-hop artist who dropped a sick joint by the name “Rone De”. Sshiv did the production and engineering of the track. “Rone De” basically depicts the past instances of Shabd that happened in his life when he was in a relationship. He thought there are many people who have the same story like him, so he decided to drop this track for them to feel and get connected to it.

6. GUNHEGAAR | Agyaat, And Gumnaam

This track is related to the current social situation in which rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. At first the track was only going to be done by Agyaat but then him and Gumnaam both collaborated together. They used Lil Wayne’s “Believe Me” instrumental.
