Desi Hip Hop has brought the best of the South Asian hip hop to you despite of lockdown. The Fifth Element hosted by Dee MC has featured emcees, bboys and bgirls, beatboxers, graffiti writers as well as DJs. Artists from all the elements of hip hop join Dee to talk about their journey, giving you an inside view of the community from their perspective.
Last week’s episode featured Delhi based hip hop artist Darcy. One of the promising artists from his city, Darcy has been collaborating a lot with many known acts. His latest collaboration ‘Dhun’ features D₹V, another fresh voice from the Delhi hip hop scene.

This collaboration from Delhi is definitely one for the books! A wavy summer bop, ‘Dhun’ is easily the best we have heard from Darcy yet. Roping in D₹V for the track just made it all the more interesting as both their styles mash really well together. Not only that, AAKASH the producer is also someone who has worked with both the artists before and knows their styles quite well.

Apart from performing the track acapella for the audience, Darcy also spoke about his journey that led him from living in Bombay to later shifting to Delhi. That doesn’t come in between the music he creates as his features come from the group of friends he has in both the cities. He is currently working on a mixtape/album that is being executive produced by Sahir and co-produced by Collective beats.
