Create Music Group Acquires Nirvana Digital, Indian Distribution-Rights Mgmt Firm

US-based music and media company Create Music Group has acquired Mumbai-based Nirvana Digital (described as one of the largest YouTube Enterprise partners in India). While terms of the deal were not disclosed, Create says that this is the first of a planned $50 million investment the company is making in India and the broader region in Asia over the next several years.

“India is without a doubt one of the most exciting growth territories in the global music and media market,” said Jonathan Strauss (Create Founder and CEO).

Nirvana Digital provides monetization, distribution, rights management services to artists, labels, film and television and other content owners, including one of the largest Spiritual Organizations in the world, The Art of Living, in addition to Rap/Hip Hop superstar Bohemia, and Regional Music companies Vats Records and Team Films. Nirvana Digital says that it serves over 20 billion minutes of video each month and has a subscriber base north of 200 million.

Create Music Group is a digitally-driven distribution, rights management, and music publishing company founded in 2015.
