Most of you might be familiar with the term TED or TEDx Talks. However, if you aren’t, then you’re sleeping on some very interesting conferences. As a matter of fact, TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design and works under the slogan – Ideas Worth Spreading. They’re a media organisation which distributes talks online for free. In fact, it has been more than three decades since they first started off in the February of 1984.

As a matter of fact, TEDx events are indirectly controlled by TED. If you’re a license holder provided by TED, you can organise this event anywhere in the world. TEDx has gained popularity worldwide because of its flexible nature. People like Bill Clinton, Shah Rukh Khan, Jasmine Sandlas and several others have already hosted sessions on TEDx.

TEDx Delhi is lined up for today. Constitution Club of India at Sansad Marg in Delhi is the venue where TEDx Delhi is taking place. This talk session will cover topics like fundraising, volunteering, philanthropy, charity, women empowerment special and several others. To elaborate, speakers from the fields of music, theatre, arts and politics will share their unique insights. The program includes interesting performances as well.

Art in any form i.e. literature, dance, music, when pursued with passion gives children the means to grow exponentially. What happens when they discover who they are? What they can potentially do and what their future holds? This event is an exploration into the idea of Art and Childhood. TEDx Delhi will be bringing together change makers, contrarians, activators on the issues surrounding the topic.

Furthermore, Gaurav Gupta is the Ambassador of TEDx India. In addition, he is also the founder of Minds Ignited. We sat down with him to know his side of the story as well. He stated, “Great ideas have immense power to bring about change. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, Art in any form- literature, dance, painting and even sports when pursued with passion gives children access to unexplored vistas of their personalities, opening doors to a world of new perspectives and untapped opportunities. Unfortunately, children from the lowest strata of society, that need this access the most, receive the least.”

Delhi based hip-hop duo – 2ShadeZ are going to talk about Desi hip-hop and factors that surround its growth and importance in this event. Sun J and B-Boys from the Khatarnaak Hip-Hop Collective will join 2Shadez at this event.

Slyck from 2Shadez shared his ideology towards discussion of hip-hop on TEDx. He suggested, “I have witnessed it first hand that people are amazed when they listen to Desi underground music. A platform such as TedX allows us to amplify it. 2-ShadeZ has been involved with several projects which are based around using Hip-Hop music for rehabilitation of the rural youth and many of these artists have gone a long way. A shout out to Mr. Gaurav Gupta for providing us this platform and furthering our efforts.”
