Recently a reality show called Lip Sing Battle was launched which is based on the international show Lip Sync Battle. As a matter of fact, the latter is hosted by LL Cool J with colourful commentary by Chrissy Teigen. Basically, on this show each week A-list celebrities go toe to toe, syncing contemporary hits and classic tracks.
Furthermore, they have to lip sync the right lyrics for the ultimate bragging rights – the title of Lip Sync Battle Champion. And now we have the Indian version of this show hosted by Farah Khan and Ali Asgar doing the comic stints for the show
Format of Lip sing battle
For those who have not watched the show yet this is how it goes. There are different rounds lined-up on the show. As a matter of fact, two guest celebs begin the battle with a brief warm-up. They are mostly required to lip-sync on Bollywood songs throughout. Excluding the “Boss Ka Toss” round, where they are given two bottles acting as sand timers. They have to empty the contents of one into another. After the main performance by the celebrities, both convince the audience to cheer for them. The audience with its “cheer-o-meter” gives the final verdict.
As a matter of fact, two of India’s biggest hip-hop stars participated in the Indian version of Lip Sync Battle recently. Check out the whole story here –
1. Badshah
The “DJ Waley Babu” hitmaker made an appearance on Lip Sing Battle competing against Sonakshi Sinha. As a matter of fact, we know being a Bollywood actress, how good Sonakshi Sinha is when she puts her dancing shoes on. Both the artists opened the show with their track “Move Your Lakk” on which the crowd went mad.

On the other hand, our desi rockstar gave a tough fight to the Bollywood diva with his cool Bhangra moves. He performed on the title track of Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Badshah. On the other hand, Sonakshi Sinha performed on Badshah’s track “Mercy”. Although Sonakshi Sinha won the battle, Badshah won many hearts through his performance.
2. Raftaar
Raftaar competed with television industry’s queen Mouni Roy. This episode was full of entertainment as Raftaar and Mouni Roy gave spectacular performances. Raftaar started off with his track “Baby Marwake Manegi” and the crowd went all gaga over him. Raftaar did few comic scenes with Ali Asgar on the show as well.

Talking about the performance, Mouni performed on a track “Sajna Di Vaari” whereas Raftaar performed on a famous Bhojpuri track “Jab Lagawe Lu Tu Lipstick” and his energy on stage was commendable as Farah Khan was shocked seeing Raftaar dancing. The crowd was fully cheering Raftaar.
In the second round, Mouni performed on “Anarkali Chali Disco” whereas Raftaar did a mind blowing performance on the track “Urvashi Urvashi” in which he improvised the track and added few lines of his rap as well. This led Raftaar to win the battle as the crowd cheered him a lot.
