Apple Music Launches “Behind the Songs” to Highlight Songwriters & Producers

Apple Music has launched “Behind the Songs”. A new space within Apple Music dedicated to highlighting songwriters, producers, session musicians and their work. The new portal will highlight these creators through Apple Music’s key playlist brands including Songbook and Behind the Boards.

“Apple Music has, above all, continued to invest deeply in the songwriting community and its various components, and ‘Behind the Songs’ is a new place we can call home,” Nile Rodgers said about the new initiative.

At launch among those profiled were Nile Rodgers of Chic, Love Junkies, Finneas, Benny Blanco, Taylor Swift, Ryan Tedder and Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Sam Smith and Bastille, and legends Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and Barry Gibb.

Behind the Songs will be fully searchable in Apple Music. It will appear for any subscriber searching for the words “Songwriter or Songwriters” combined with lyric-search, lyric share and time-synced lyrics. It will also allow songwriters and publishers to participate in regularly updated editorial features and promotions with Apple Music and its subscribers.
