Akon Drops “Ain’t No Peace”, The Social Injustice Mixtape

Akon addresses the systemic injustice plaguing America and people around the world on his new mixtape Ain’t No Peace. The veteran singer has recruited Rick Ross, Metro Boomin, OG Boo Dirty and Mali Music for contributions to his latest work.

“I felt it was super important to weigh in on the crisis at hand, but not through press interviews or social media, but in the way people know me best and that’s through music,” he said in a press release.

Ain’t No Peace doesn’t feature Tekashi 6ix9ine, who’s been embraced and supported by Akon despite being maligned for snitching. Akon faced criticism for working with 6ix9ine after the two linked up to tease a new version of the popular single “Locked Up”. The collaboration prompted Styles P, who teamed with Akon on the song’s 2004 remix, to distance himself from the situation.

Ain’t No Peace serves as the follow-up to Akon’s El Negreeto and Akonda album, which both dropped in October 2019. The projects were his first studio LPs since 2008’s Freedom. Check out Akon’s Ain’t No Peace stream below.
