It’s only a matter of time until the Badshah & Major Lazer collaboration takes off. Yesterday, a video was released that gave us all an update about the whole process. Tuborg being the brand that propels this much anticipated track, dropped the video through the standpoint of the Badshah himself.
Kings Wear Crowns
Badshah has always been known to explore and experiment different sounds in music. The video takes the viewer through that same zone. He states that his main goal when making music is to make people happy.
The video then talks about his early life and experiences in music. Speaking about “Bandook” and how that song brought out a different side of him. This might also be a hint stating that he might bring that side of him out again on this song. He takes you through the shops that he used to stand in line for hours at a stretch to get his CDs signed by different artists.
The nostalgia factor doubles up as he is seen walking by the same streets he used to as a child, later in the video. Scores of fans surround the man, clicking selfies as he towers through the vicinity. We also get another glimpse of a studio session with Major Lazer. He praises their work and in the background we hear in a low volume the kind of beat that is being created.
And it sounds just great! Notice the flutes and strings fusing in harmony and putting out what could be a very ambient vibe to the track. Badshah then explains why it is that Major Lazer was the crew he chose to collaborate with. Both sides put out happy and pumped up tracks to their own audiences. It made sense for them to join hands and push those vibes even further.
Big time moves for Badshah without a doubt. We hope the song sticks to it’s hype and gives us something different in the soundscape of Indian music. Badshah’s latest release”Therapy” also saw him exploring a different sound and emotion. We hope he brings the same lyricality onboard with the Major Lazer collaboration.
